A history lesson
In 1654 Delft was partly destroyed by a huge gunpowder explosion that took many lives, among them Fabritius the painter. Six years later a new storehouse for the gunpowder was built, more sensibly this time outside the city walls, on the river side. I passed by it on my walk this afternoon, nowadays a less dangerous place, I think: some sort of scout center for jongens.
Clocks went back today. Darkness is upon us.
