Friluftsliv And Ravenna Trolls
The Scandinavian word for outdoor living (coined in Norway by Henrik Ibsen in the 1850s) might be something more of us need to consider as we come to a cold dark pandemic season.
Swedes and Norwegians are well known for cherishing their time outside and just put on more clothes in the winter.
Today we passed by this wonderful yard “Ravenna Trollbooth” that a friend had described to me..it’s right next to Ravenna Park so down the street we went for a walk in the park. My camera was misbehaving (well, I didn’t notice a setting had slipped slightly) so my photos weren’t as sharp as they could be, but I picked out a few trolls to put on a trail in the park. for fun. Trolls know how to live outdoors in Scandinavia. :-) We can take walks...
The extra is the whole yard…so you get the scope and scale of these marvelous creatures. .notice they are also sitting all along the fence (“log”) and go down the sides of the house…many heads there like this elephant. (but how could I resist the elephant?)
Stay well and safe everyone... with friloftsliv! for our physical and mental health.
Edit.... here’s a website with more photos https://www.ravennatrollbooth.com/
