Last day

Today I gave my escort bike to another rider (who got knocked off his on Saturday) but that is another story.
I have decided that I will now take a back seat and leave this to some younger ones coming along. It has been a fantastic job since I retired from my engineering career twelve years ago. I have met some wonderful local people and have enjoyed working with the team. It has been a very busy job at times with some very early starts, especially when the cargo ship arrives at 3am. I will probably help out if the need arises but for now I look forward to some time with my hobbies. 
We now both wake very early, which is why we often catch a sunrise but not a sunset. :)
