Paradiso

Back to the cinema this afternoon for a showing of 'Cinema Paradiso', which for some reason neither of us had ever actually seen (we were at Uni in 1988, budding film buffs - I even joined the Film Soc - and watching, as I recall, 'Betty Blue', 'Withnail and I' and the early films of Jim Jarmusch, so perhaps we didn't think it was 'edgy' enough; that's Beck's theory at least.) It was predictably brilliant. Plus we went to Oscar and Rosie's for pizza first and then tried to do our bit for our local independent shops by buying a copy of 'Power, Corruption and Lies' on vinyl from Rough Trade so it was a pretty good afternoon, all in all, heavy rain excepted...
