The Hedge #1
On 29 July 1996 local residents discovered plans to extend a development of new houses into the fields opposite our homes and put in an access road to the main road there, that would involve destroying a centuries-old wall and hawthorn hedgerow that we were all proud off. It was a boundary hedge and therefore theoretically protected.
I photographed the field and hedge from a neighbour's bedroom window a couple of days later, almost opposite to where the access road was due to emerge.
