Memory lane...Un jour en France

In June 1988 we were with our 2 children on vacation in the Cevennes (France). Judith was 18 month and Hannah 1,5 months. T o practice my French a bit i read some magazines likes Paris Match. 
The magazine Paris Match was organizing a big photo contest in which one had to take a pic on the 16th of June. Out of all the submitted photos 300 will be chosen to be presented in a book. i must say i was quite active then in taking photos and that time it was easier to have an interresting shot. So i had many of our family and rural life. It was somehow difficult to pick the right one , and i found this the most striking. We were coming from a day trip and we just had to buy some food. We gave the baguette, to hold , to our daughter but hungry she was she decided to take a bite. around this time , oct , i received the news that my photo was choosen and i would soon receive the book.
In the jury were names like Martine Franck , Betina Reims which were
great photographers at that time.
Somehow this book is like a pre Blipfoto, showing peoples everyday life.
