Vintage Glass Stopper

The Tiny Tuesday theme for today is " Something ending in R ".  So here is an old aqua coloured glass bottle stopper which I dug up when gardening a few years ago.  From research I think stoppers like these were mostly used with sauce or relish bottles but also with many other vintage bottles. It measures around 3.5cm long. Thanks to ApolloFly for hosting

The weather today has been quite nasty.  So dark all day with rain most of the time. So I just stayed at home.  Watched a lot ofTV - including the first episode of Sister which I had recorded from last night.  Enjoyed it and looking forward to watching the next episode.  Also did lots of ironing.  Good to get that out of the way.  Iceland delivery came this evening.  Only one item was out of stock.

Corona Classic - It don't mean a thing - Duke Ellington

Another for Black History Month.  Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington (1899 – 1974) was an American composer, pianist, and leader of a jazz orchestra, which he led from 1923 until his death over a career spanning more than six decades.

Born in Washington, D.C., Ellington was based in New York City from the mid-1920s onward and gained a national profile through his orchestra's appearances at the Cotton Club in Harlem. He was widely considered a pivotal figure in the history of jazz.   A master at writing miniatures for the three-minute 78 rpm recording format, Ellington wrote more than one thousand compositions; his extensive body of work is the largest recorded personal jazz legacy, and many of his pieces have become standards. His reputation continued to rise after he died, and he was awarded a posthumous Pulitzer Prize Special Award for music in 1999.
