Push me - Pull you

The UAL Cologne entering harbour this morning. It is very seldom I have seen a vessel needing a tug to help manoeuvre into Aberdeen harbour. The cable between the tug and the ship is not visible at this resolution, but it is there and taught.

The ship is about to carry out a "three point turn" in order to reverse into the quay where it will moor. I watched part of this manoeuvre which kept the tug very busy. I looked at the forthcoming voyages and this seems to be one of those ships with no fixed abode, but that travels the world though calling The Netherlands home.

The sun was shining much of the day, but the temperature was definitely on the cool side.
