What big feet you have!

All the better for having a scratch.

A fine sunny morning and so decided to get out in the fresh air, and have a walk to the pond and back.
It was fuller than I have seen it for a long time. Shouldn't be short of water this winter!
These young moorhens were preening themselves and this one having a good scratch.
I am always fascinated by their huge feet.

Some nice autumn colours, but also reminders of summer.

The poppies seemed to be very late flowering, and the gorse has just started flowering again.
We didn't meet anyone as we walked across the fields, and then back over the moor.
Glad we wore our walking boots as the path down from the top moor was extremely muddy. Churned up by horse riders I'm afraid. Something we are going to have to put up with through winter.

Back home by lunchtime and  the washing nearly dry.
A heavy shower early afternoon, and got wet picking it in.
Needless to say the sun came out again 10 mins later, although the sky looks very black again now.

Now off to start the ironing!
