Ricardo

Wednesday = date morning. We both really look forward to this couple of hours together. From there we headed to Chris and Rose's to find out how the alarm system works in their house and how to look after their kitten, Desmond. A quick coffee with Stef at the cafe by school as we were early for pick up. Saw Sole's eldest son their too!
This afternoon I was with a lady from San An, good to natter. I got a message during that time to say a homeless friend, Darren, had died in the street. So so so sad. He was a troubled but lovely soul. He was the friend who'd save up his coupons for the charity shop (which no longer exists) and buy the kids Christmas presents. From when we first met him years ago, he's steadily deteriorated and we've been more and more worried about him. Very sad to hear this news, strange to realise we'd seen the police and ambulance by our flat and not known it was him they were there for. Danny and I have been asked to put on a memorial service for his friends as a way to say goodbye.
Late afternoon I had to grab a picture of Ricky for a campaign Caritas are doing...it was good to sit and chat.
Off to prison in a bit for the weekly wave to Sole.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Having known Darren.
2) Time watching the waves.
3) Time to sit and talk with Ricardo.

Our friend Charlie shared this quote today, I love it;

‘The dream of God over your life is not that you become a believer and help out the local church. The dream of God over your life is that you come alive in His presence and bring life to every environment, spilling contagious hope into hurting humanity.’
