Mappa Mundi

This ancient map of the world dates back to 1290, and is kept in Hereford Cathedral, where we bought this jigsaw.
It says it was drawn by Richard of Haldingham and is made on vellum - and is 65ins x 54ins, so this jigsaw does not do it justice! It is interesting though to see what their understanding of the world (flat) was at that time. Needless to say, the only easy part was the Red Sea!! It is worth studying if you can get a clear picture on Google!
