Hello Tim...

...goodbye porch furniture.

We got new cushions for the furniture in our porch after the Nun’s fire in 2017. When we took the roof off the porch and got a new table with an umbrella, storing the cushions for the winter became a problem. I finally decided that what was needed was not porch furniture that looked like it belonged in a living room, but furniture that was more weather resistant and looked like it belonged outside.

We ordered furniture that probably comes from China, having to change to a new credit card number when our account number was fraudulently obtained and having the old order cancelled and a new one placed, further delayed shipment. We finally recieved notice that we needed to telephone the shipping company to arrange a delivery date in November.

Tim came up in his old truck (which he bought used when he was in college) named Trucky Truckelson to pick up the five parts of the old sectional. He even took the lime green covers which only had a few ember holes in them but were pretty filthy.
They have the energy to clean them up, we don’t have much of that left.

Most important, we had a visit from Tim who we haven’t seen since Christmas. Much as he loves Trucky, he isn’t super comfortable driving his forty year old truck through all the sleek new construction vehicles plying the roads right now.

Our insurance claim has now been approved by the adjuster, the adjuster’s supervisor as well as the adjuster’s supervisor’s boss. Now all that remains is another approval for the method of getting the money to us. It seems like all our adjuster does is shuffle paper around for approval.Considering how many disasters are going on right now, and how many clients have been assigned to her, it sounds like a dreadful job!

The final irony of the day is the fact that the only way to contest a bill from the telephone company for a telephone line that has not functioned for a month, is to call them on the phone! And the only way we can dump fire debris is to get a permit from the county on a computer that is also non-functional. Looks like John will be camping at Dana’s tomorrow.

an awful job!
