One And a Half Socks
I'm still fascinated by how the colors unfold, which is good because I'm at the boring part of the sock where you just knit around in a circle for several inches. The whole design is very clever; I can't imagine how anyone thought this up in the first place. That red strand is a lifeline, marking the beginning of the toe section. I will need to rip back to that row and reshape the funny looking pointy tip. It does no good to say no one will notice.
We worked out in the yard for awhile this morning, getting one of the beds ready to plant lettuce and maybe some kale. There were the most amazing dense matted hairy roots throughout the dirt; we can't figure out what they're from. Because it's a raised bed, they are basically growing in a tight rectangle above ground level, but they aren't attached to anything we can find. Best idea is that they may be from a tree that is about ten feet away, but I don't think that makes any sense. Yet another garden mystery.
