The Weekend

There might be all sorts of dreadful events under way in the world outside, but just for a moment it’s calm in this house and I’ve started a very tasty bottle of Marston's EPA. I’m drinking it from a tankard that was a Christening present In Bombay in 1954; it’s inscribed, 

Sláinte 
And may your thirst be as great as your Father's

In the foreground is a new iPhone to replace the one that didn’t float (!): it’s a 7, an “old” model, but it has 128Gb to hold loads of photos and music and it came from the insurance that’s part of our Nationwide bank account. Hurrah!  And it would withstand 30 minutes in water, it says . . .
