Hairy Bracket
This morning I finally had a hair cut - over ten months since my last visit to the hairdresser! My head feels much lighter and now I won't get my hair tangled in trees and bushes when I'm searching for fungi in dark corners of the local woodlands.
After lunch I went on a fungus foray round Rice Wood in Helpston with R, who lives in the village and is keen to learn more about fungi. We had an excellent time (though at times it was the blind leading the blind) and saw some spectacular species, but I think my favourite was this young Hairy Bracket, only about 1.5 centimetres across.
