Hallowe'en arrives in the shadow of a pandemic and with "guising" on the official list of banned activities. Of course that didn't stop a run on both the easy-to-carve pumpkins and the more traditionally Scottish hellish-to-hollow neeps which reduced me again to carving out a butternut squash.
