The Orangerie, Dalkeith Country Park

Beautiful sunny day today, so we decided to let the kids loose in the adventure playground at Dalkeith Country Park. Unfortunately, it's still closed for the winter, and the playground itself looked like it was being rennovated. Hopefully it will be up and running with all the big slides by this summer. Fortunately, our kids were happy just wandering around the marked trails.

This is the derelict Orangerie. It was meant to be in the process of being repaired, but I don't think much progress has been made since our last visit in July 2011. To be honest, I have no idea what an Orangerie is used for, and it wouldn't surprise me if in a 'QI' pervese kind of way it has absolutely nothing to do with the cultivation of oranges...
