Giving me a headache

The new layout I'm working on at present uses DCC (digital) control for the engines, and the latest engine uses the DCC not only for basic running but for various sound effects. Trying to get that to operate has proved quite complicated, and the instructions aren't particularly clear. This is on top of spending all day yesterday finishing wiring up the points and controls.
