holding up still in the morning sunlight. This wee lochan is very popular with wildlife as it is surprisingly difficult to reach. The ground is moorland, tussocky and covered in mosses, often boggy. Because it is exposed, birds love to drop in when on passage.
There are lots of Fieldfares flying around at the moment, flocks from Scandinavia having arrived.
In my garden, there is still dispute about the squirrel feeder. The one I call Winner fluffs himself up and raises his ear tufts. Loser runs off but returns later when the coast is clear.
