Squash season
Now that the pumpkin carving frenzy is over, it is time to start buying for EATING.
This little pile of squashes has not been accrued for reasons of panic (Coronavirus, Brexit, etc) but because the difficulty of getting to retail outlets.
In our humble opinion, the traditional, orange carving pumpkins are grown for just that, carving not eating.
This winter stock features our favourite - the Crown Prince squash with its steel-blue colour.
The smaller green Gem squashes are also a favourite and we are now down to our last two.
You can buy the Turks Turban type, for photographic reasons, but they are not particularly tasty
Happy squashing.
