Martin and I went to visit Simon. We were supposed to be going out for a meal but in the light of yesterday’s announcement we decided we’d rather stay in for tea and biscuits. Our theory that everywhere serving Sunday lunch would be too busy making the most of being able to eat out proved correct seeing all the packed car parks on our journey home.

We discussed emergency plans in case he gets ill as he lives in staff accommodation at the hospital he works at. Like many families I’m not sure when we’ll see him next :(
