Ethan's birthday - he's 11 so we go to Argos to buy him som awful plastic gun. Glad I don't have any boys - I would struggle with the idea any sort of gun can be a toy! They really make me feel uncomfortable.

Spend most of the rest of the day at Nick & Pauline's eating birthday cake etc. Pauline gives my hair a quick trim which causes fireworks with Nick ... Poor damaged child. This is his Batman outfit ... It's real apparently!
