Inverleith Pond

As it’s the first Sunday in the month our orienteering club has a Turf competition to see who can get the most points between 11:00 (when a new round starts) and midnight. It’s interesting seeing the different strategies; it’s best on a bike. I just walk as I’m not really part of the competition and we went for a walk to Stockbridge in the morning brightness before going back into town and then home. The blip is a view over Inverleith Pond towards the town. The extra is part of the Beachcomber sculpture in Rose Street which is from George Mackay Brown’s poem; there are 7 individual sculptures and this is Sunday.

Sunday
for fear of the elders,
I sit on my bum.
What’s heaven?
A sea chest with a
thousand gold coins.

Best on black.
