A Twinsday

Lex, Sarah and I went down to look after the boys while Manda and Andrew got together with friends.  The boys are a bit off their schedule due to the end of Daylight Savings Time, so both were asleep when we arrived.  Sam woke up first, but Max stayed sleeping and was very unhappy when Sarah had to wake him (see above.)  At feeding time, Sam chugged down his bottle while Max got through about half before he refused to go on.  Then it was time for a little oatmeal.  Max enjoyed his, but Sam wouldn't take it.  He may not be ready for solid foods, as he doesn't seem to know how to get the oatmeal off the spoon.

Then we settled in for play time, which went well until suddenly Max had a meltdown.  Nothing Lex could do would soothe him, and he cried hysterically for the longest time.  It was so hard to see him suffering and not be able to help him.  Eventually he responded to a book and quieted, but it was a relief when Manda and Andrew arrived home to be with him.

The Extras show Sam practicing his moves.  He lays on his tummy and raises both his arms and his legs off the floor, holding them up as long as he can.  I think of this as his paragliding position.  It's very difficult to do but clearly he feels it's important, as he keeps practicing.  He also gets up on his knees and moves his body forward.  I think he's getting ready to crawl.

They're so much bigger and more mature than when I last saw them.  And their faces are becoming more clearly differentiated.  Seeing them in person, I don't think anyone would mistake one for the other.
