Fly fisher girl
Warwickshire yesterday, North Yorkshire today, and a very refined afternoon tea in a village hall to celebrate the 70th birthday of a very dear friend.
And jolly nice it was too.
Afterwards we went back to the birthday girl's house for supper and cheese and cake. Our daughter Sophia, and birthday girl's hubby (Mr Farmer) went straight to The Table. Light On. Fly hooks out. Some of them are 200 year old designs and Mr Farmer is teaching Sophia all about them and where they originated. Mr Farmer's mother started teaching him to make flies from the age of 5. Sophia's already learnt to make a couple on a previous trip and next time there'll be more making, in preparation for her first trout fishing expedition in the Spring.
No pun intended, but Soph is really hooked.
Nearly home now.
Night all, F x
