Russell

This is the beach at Russell just in front of the town. The cannon in the foreground came from a ship that was broken up here after becoming unseaworthy.
The small island in the background was dubbed Pork Pie Island by my son-in-law. It is in fact called Mill Island as there was a flour mill on it until it was destroyed in a storm.
Today a cruise ship arrived so the town is somewhat busier than normal. It will only stay for the day and sail off this evening.
