Social time before it stops

We’d arranged ages ago for Marion and Ken to come up from the city (or as we say, the toon) for a walk. When we lived here before they did too, but did not know each other and were married to different people then.

It was great to catch up and we did almost 6 miles. We’ll intended to go into Cragside for a short bit to avoid the busy roads but the No Entry’ and Police will Prosecute type signs were up. However it wasn’t long before we headed round to the Debdon track and home across the moor and down through the woods.

I had made some broccoli, carrot, potato and kale soup with Stilton. It was so mild and sunny that we were able to sit outside to eat.

We are having some cauliflower and potato curry tonight. I’ve made it already as Jo and I are zooming tonight. We met a year ago in Iran but she lives in Cornwall. She’s in quarantine after getting back from 3 weeks in Iceland.

2 more days before lockdown. Mr C is going to the garden centre in the morning then what? Gove says it will be more than a month. Of course it will as numbers are already higher than in March. People are fed up - I hope Scotland doesn’t have to do this too.
