Beady Eyed

I went out this morning to pick a few things up from shops that will be closed from Thurs in the 2nd lockdown (England). I got very wet in a sudden heavy shower in Holt. Then I went to Blakeney to look at the craft / art shops to see if I could see any potential xmas gifts - I did buy a couple, plus a new picture for me!!! The shopkeepers were disappointed to be closing, but they said they'd had a very good summer with all the tourists visiting. The mono is at Blakeney Harbour and appealed to me as I'm reading The Taxidermist's Daughter by Kate Mosse at the moment and it includes description of a display case with 4 birds making up the The Corvidae Club. The Extra is of Juno.

UK deaths up 136 to 46,853 (revised basis), with  18,950 new cases, 10,918 patients in hospital and 978 in ventilator beds. Globally cases to date pass 47m, up 1m in 2 days. The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme has been enhanced with the self-employed now receiving 80% of their average trading profits for November (from 40% of last year) for Nov up to a maximum grant of £5,160 for Nov to Jan (equivalent to 55% of profits) - confusing! Payment holidays have been extended for up to 6 months for people who have not already claimed one on mortgages, credit cards, car finance, personal loans and pawned goods. A study finds that T cells remain active 6 months after infection, potentially providing some immunity. The maker of Andrex toilet rolls says it has 100m toilet rolls standing by in case of stockpiling. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have returned to Windsor Castle for the 2nd lockdown, and it was revealed that Prince William had the virus in April at around the same time as Prince Charles had it.
