Tiny cones of the caucasian fir
Today we left Orange and are now settled in our Dubbo motel room. The route was not without adventures. First, we went via the Orange Botanical Gardens, where I took the photos. Second, we popped ourselves off down to a local in Dubbo to watch the Melbourne Cup, The Race That Stops A Nation. Not being a gambler, if I take any notice of the Melbourne Cup and punting, I'll make it a statement bet. I put my money on the horse with a female rider and it came in third. So I'm A$12 the richer. I was thrilled for her.
The photo shows the tiny new cones (about 2cm long) of a Caucasian fir. The tree has an attractive habit, when you look close.
Thanks for hosting JDO. Stay well all.
