ELECTION DAY IN US
Although early voting has been going on for weeks & mail-in ballots have been streaming in since early October, today is the actual ELECTION DAY in the US. When the polls opened today on the East Coast, over 98 million Americans have voted already. Millions are expected to vote in person today. It is a beautiful day & HOPE is in the air.
Although Joe Biden has consistently led in the polls, the actual results may not be tallied until tomorrow or later this week. Joe Biden has spent that last few days campaigning alongside Pres. Barack Obama, with a hopeful message; while Trump has been spewing "a long litany of bitter grievances" & complaining about Lady Gaga.
Trump has threatened to contest the result, but I am hoping it is a
land slide so large that even Bill Barr will laugh at him. I hope today becomes an unofficial holiday: the day we ended this hateful experiment in
populism & we send the Russians packing, begin to listen to the scientists,
& get COVID under control. We can celebrate our diversity, embrace
the rule of law again & recover out democratic values.
I have chilled the champagne, put on my part pants & am ready to celebrate as the BIG BLUE WAVE begins in the East Coast & washes across the country. Then, here in California, we will pile on our millions of
votes to make the rebuke complete.
