Es Mercadal.
New State of Alarm day 9.
Went to Es Mercadal today on a few errands. The post office was a nightmare: it's tiny and the service was extremely slow, people were queuing outside into the road, and some were not wearing masks or were nose-dangling. At least I managed to collect a letter from #1D containing some important items sent to my old UK address; she'd included a nice card and a plain chocolate Bounty bar (my favourite) which I later enjoyed with a cuppa at home. This took so much time that I missed the hardware store (shops close here in the afternoon "siesta time"). I need to get a new push-button for the toilet flush in the shower room, as the old one sprang out, as they do when over-enthusiastically pushed, and part of it disappeared. I checked the dog baskets and Minnie2's regular hiding places to no avail. She probably buried it in the garden. The other errand was to go to the workshop of the arader to order a new garden gate. The current one is falling to bits and is hard to close to keep the dogs in. I should have taken a picture there but didn't think at the time. Instead, I found a video of the 91-year-old (!) arader and his son, showing what they do with olive wood. I'm sure Kaybe would find that interesting.
