River of Flowers

Tuesday: Itea ilicifolia

Weather much improved, dry, sunny and chilly ... perfect for a few gardening jobs.
Borrowed MrD’s shovel and cleared all the leaves blown by the wind onto the front drive. I like chucking them over the wall onto the garden and the “stumpery” https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2655915514504676180 - all the wild life will enjoy rooting around and sheltering underneath!
Cleared the leaves behind the garage too, they went onto the wild garden and the path on the other side of the garage cleared too, this leads to the Itea.
Tidied some of the trugs full of leaf mould and large trays behind the greenhouse.
Was ready to go in but decided to start pruning the black leaved elderflower and weigela, not too much because the bird feeders are nearby and the birds like some cover to protect them from predators. Whilst I was busy working they were nearby chuntering with themselves until I left ... then they were straight onto the feeders, I was watching whilst eating lunch and chuckling at them. The goldfinch are back, we saw 3 this afternoon.
Wind has moved to the north west bringing a few light showers early evening
Stay safe & healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
