Duddingston Village (Edinburgh)

The small area of Scotland's capital known as Duddingston village, adjacant to Hollyrood park, looks particulary pretty at this time of year.
Just up from where this shot was taken is the "Sheeps Heid", thought to be Scotlands oldest pub (the landlord insists on it). It's name derives from a Rams head presented to the landlord in 1580 by King James V1.
Bonnie Prince Charlie is said to have held a council of war in the pub in 1745 prior to the "Battle of Prestonpans", this is thought to have been his greatest victory.
The village also boasts a Kirk (church) which is thought to have been established around 1124, and is very popular now for weddings.
