Reach for the star!
We’ve had a laid back day after taking Eda to nursery.
I took her this morning to allow Grace to chill, the usual fun routine, taking in her special routes and walking on walls. There was bright sunshine but I had to explain why there were no shadows because of the low sun behind the buildings. We were rewarded with a bright burst of sun as we turned down to the nursery building so I was able to reassure her that we still had shadows. We have to wear masks now as we wait our turn for the little ones to be collected and taken in.
Later Grace and I took Jude to ‘Baby’ cinema. A new experience for me. It was a bit like a silver screening as we got free coffee and cake. The babies were remarkably good. A bit of jiggling here and there but we were able to watch the film well. We had a very smiley 6 month old in front of us!
It was funny as about 2 mins from the end everyone seemed to sense it and a pen almost universal wailing started up!
Lovely to be briefly back in White Ladies Road again where Grace and John had their first flat.
Whilst Jude was asleep we went to few shops in Glos. Road whilst they are still open. Two have only recently opened including one selling hand made clothing and footwear as well as local art. I just looked after Jude!
We then sought a late, light lunch at Bakers so Jude could be fed and changed which is where Grace took the two of us in our matching jackets!
Grace had some parcels to send so joined the long queue at the post office. Makes me realise how lucky we are to have our village post office with rarely more than a couple of people waiting. I had to walk Jude round the block a few tines till Grace got inside and served.
Another job was to deliver goods to a charity shop but everyone seems to be full and not taking anything at the moment, she came back out with the bag she went in with and a fairy outfit for Eda!
We had about an hour back home when it was time to go and get Eda. She was surprised to see it was dark when she came out. I pointed out a star to her which she followed all the way home. She will be able to reach it when she grows up she says! She was even more surprised when she got home and saw her fairy outfit and had to put it on straight away (she says it’s a mermaids outfit and we had to put the tail on too!)
Her red face is partly from the cold walk home and nursery pens!
I’m sure Eda will always reach for the stars, Jude too, and maybe even get there. I hope nothing stops them from trying.
