Finally!

We have been waiting for weeks to see some cranes. This morning, flock after flock passed us on their migratory route. They were flying quite high, and obviously used the thermals over the vineyards to gain even more altitude.

In the extras, you see the flock breaking up their usual V-formation to circle in the thermal column, then - re-grouped - continuing their flight in south-westerly direction.

News from Rani isn't great. She is on antibiotics now. If she still doesn't get better, she'll have to go to an animal hospital on Monday.
