Lunch
We arranged to take our interim pastor and his wife for lunch today. They've been here since the start of the year, but lockdown upset many plans! We chose Biker's Cafe as I had a voucher.
We had a fantastic time with non-stop chatter! They are South African and originally came for three months. That became six months because they couldn't leave and now it is nearly nine months! They broke the news that they are leaving next week to head back to Cape Town to have a break and settle some things. Then back to Dubai just before Christmas for an unspecified time, or until a new pastor is appointed.
They loved the cafe and food and we've already said about going there again for a meal! We finally said our goodbyes four and a half hours later, in fact, we would have stayed and chatted were it not for my friend Diane asking for a Zoom call! That lasted two hours when we finally connected.
I suspect many people today have been glued to their TVs to find out the result of the US Presidential Election. It was hard to concentrate on anything else!
In the morning, after dropping G at school, I popped into the clinic to see the GP again to let her know how unwell I've been feeling. She wants to do some more scans - subject to obtaining approval from the insurance company!
