What is this news - good, bad, terrible, okay?

Today dawned bright and sunny and frosty. Lots of blue sky and the waning moon sitting above "Betty's".  It all seemed very optimistic so I turned on the radio hoping for good news. The news was not good, but on the other hand not terrible either.
The day continued in a rather positive spirit on the home front and I tuned into the news now and again. And now, as the day ends the news remains okay, if not brilliant.
Let's hope for good news tomorrow.
