Autumn ferns

We have a lot of ferns in various parts of the garden.
Some years I have snipped off bits as you can press them and stick them onto cards to make Christmas trees. Teachers are always looking for ways to make cards with the pupils. Once I sprayed them with silver and gold paint. The children just had to make the pot and a star on the top. 
It is a lovely warm day, we didn't need jackets when we went for our walk this morning.
