Lockdown part 2
Well, we started lockdown again today and this was the view that greeted me when I opened the curtains. Sums it up really - cold wet and foggy!
This lockdown feels different. I think at the start of the previous one we were all scared and therefore obeyed the rules but this time people are more complacent and more likely to do what they want to do. As I look out of the window there seems to be just as many cars as normal.
We believed the last one was just going to be for 3 weeks whereas I very much doubt this one will be lifted on 2 Dec.
When I closed the shop last time it felt that it was a necessity but this time I just felt sad. All the christmas stuff is out and although sales have been pretty manic this week I do wonder if we will get the chance to sell the rest.
I know the restrictions are there for a reason and I will obey them to the letter but when I hear the arguments from those that say it is a waste of time/overraction I cant help but wonder....But then again, I will look at the figures tonight and think we are doing the right thing.
Confliction is my middle name this year.
