The Halloween That Wasn't
“I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the new and the old.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
We’ve let go of a lot of things this year and held on tight to what we cherish most. My kids will not dress up. They won't go trick or treating. There will be no traditional neighborhood costume picture in front of my door.
But we will have a campfire with our quarantine pod. Our”village.” These people are our chosen family. The family we have when we can’t be with our biological families. The people who we “mask up” for and they for us. I have never been more grateful for these friends because without them, I would go insane from the isolation.
