Lockdown eye test

It was finally announced today at work that from Monday I will be working from home which I am really pleased about. So this means tomorrow I will be getting everything all ready to take home and prepare for next week.

I had a day off running today, which was planned, after a late night last night out for dinner with my sisters, my mum and my daughter. We had a lovely time and the food was good. It will of course be the last time we all get together for quite some time.

After work today I went to an opticians appointment which was rather overdue because of the last lockdown. I wear contact lenses, as glasses aren’t so easy for when I go running and because of this my glasses are out of date. I wasn’t sure if such appointments would still be taking place but I called at the beginning of the week and they confirmed they would still be open.

I had a contact lens check, which involves checking the fit, prescription and health of the eyes followed by a general sight test to check my prescription for glasses. I arrived five minutes before my appointment time as requested and sat on a chair in the waiting area which had Perspex screens between each chair.

I chose some new glasses and will pick them up in 2 weeks time. My glasses are quite out of date and I have been relying on my contacts a little too much.

Now I’m looking forward to the weekend to have some down time with the family after a long week!
