Deduction....

Came across this stone on a wall in Meadows Terrace. Hard to figure. The building is the Orthodox Church of St Andrew, Edinburgh.

And the child grew and became strong in spirit;..... John 2:40 So it's to do with children.

The faded name above the protico says Hope Park Hall.

So probably this building was the Mission Hall/Sunday School for the old Hope Park Church, at one time in Hope Park Terrace, then became part of the Dick Vet, and presumably now part of the Summerhall venue.

Of course, that may all be nonsense....
