Lockdown 2: Day 1
Unlike last lockdown when we were too terrified to take the car anywhere other than a supermarket shop, this time I’m not going to feel guilty if we drive to local villages to start a wander.
Today we went the 5 miles to Grasmere. The main A591 road was much less busy than it’s been for many months. There were some cars parked at White Moss and in the big lay-by at Grasmere. Last lockdown they were empty.
There was no gingerbread (extra) and nowhere selling takeaway coffee. Only the Co-op was open. I noticed one restaurant offering takeaway meals and home delivery three evenings a week. The garden centre (main photo) was shut and the recent winds and rain have stripped their trees of the colourful foliage.
