New Allotment

Following on from the poor growing season in the shade of the trees on our riverside plot (& the second flooding in 2 years), we’ve requested a plot on the higher ground.
Turns out that our ex neighbour Brian has decided to give up HIS new plot on high ground just after digging most of it over as he’s damaged his shoulder & can’t dig for 9 months.
So, for the second time, we’ve fallen lucky on getting a clean plot.
However, it’s set out as one giant bed, so between now and planting time, we’ve a lot of work to do to create our ‘no dig’ “raised” beds!
First step, plant apple pear and plum trees infront of the gladioli.
