Monday morning, 8am

The mist was just lifting over the other side of the bay. It was flat calm, there was a heron standing at the water's edge and a black bird perched on top of the old creel, singing its heart out.

A beautiful start to a day spend outside until nearly 5pm! Before too long the sun was shining in an almost cloudless sky. I spent the morning in the garden, mostly forking it over and weeding, sat in the sun and did a bit more knitting, and then, just after lunch, Postie came home! Because of the early morning fog there was no mail plane, so he didn't have too much to deliver.

We got togged up and took the dinghy out to test the new electric outboard motor. Great to be out on the water again! We moved the raft round to the slip so that when we are ready to go out and check the mooring, the raft is ready to go.

I'm looking forward to lots more days like this - it's amazing the difference a bit of sunshine and blue sky makes to a day!
