NEIL

As Neil is on furlough from work he has more free time so he asked if I wanted to go for a walk this afternoon.  I jumped at the chance.  We set off around 1pm and headed up the hill to the next village - Sunniside.  As our route took us past the local shop Neil decided to pop in to get some " Geordie Bangers " - his favourite sausages.  They aren't available in many shops and sometimes when Neil goes to this shop for them they are sold out as they are very popular.  So he decided to get them before going further on our walk in case there were none left on the way back.  Actually there were only 3 packs left when we looked and as they were on offer if you bought 3 packs Neil got the last 3.

We carried on walking through the woods until we reached the station of the Tanfield Railway - the oldest railway in the world.  No trains running of course but we did have a good mooch around and went down to the engine sheds.  See Extra shots for some more views of our walk. The weather was  lovely today and I really enjoyed being outdoors.

As we were heading home a little dog ran up to Neil and started grabbing at the carrier bag containing his sausages,  It was so funny to see this little dog hanging on to the corner of the bag and pulling it.  His owner had to pull him off.

When I got back home I was exhausted as we had walked over 5 miles. Neil got the bus home and I just chilled out on the sofa until it was time for tea.

At 8pm I settled down to watch the footie on my PC.  Newcastle were playing away at Southampton. Unfortunately Newcastle were useless ... and they lost 2 - 0.
