A Seat of Learning

There was a time when any self respecting institution of learning had to be housed within a building which recalled the styles of Ancient Greece and the influence of Socrates, Plato etc. Even the original buildings of the University of Athens, which can only date from the late 19th century, are fronted by classical columns similar to these.

Red Brick and Plate Glass followed as can be seen at the nearby university.

A lovely spring day demanded a walk during which I popped into the library and borrowed a slim volume on the battle of Warsaw, 1920.
