Water pump and power cord.

Trip to Bourton-on-the-Water today with the family before they go back home this evening, and I spotted this old water pump next to an electric power cord (which was powering a water feature just out of the picture).

The juxtaposition of old and new power sources was what caught my eye, but thinking about them since, the pump is operated by person-power, whereas the electricity flowing through the power chord is unseen - although definitely there.

It got me thinking about the difference between us doing things in our own strength, and allowing God's power to flow through us, unseen, but the effects are very real.
