Saturday... running, writing and planning

This morning, Raffles the puppy had an appointment at the vets for a health check. It was well organised, the vets gave him a good bill of health and he needs to go back next week for some vaccinations. He is settling so well and loves to sit on our laps. He will prove to be a real blessing over the weeks of lockdown ahead.

Afterwards, I went out for my run, later than usual and with my son cycling with me. We started doing this last lockdown and now that he can’t swim, we decided we would re-start this and also he wants to do some running himself. So we headed out, I chose a route that would be mostly off road, and he really enjoyed it. An 8 mile round trip up to a lovely lake and the weather was also kind to us. It was a little chilly, but not too bad.

Afterwards, I sat down at worked on my new novel, which is coming along nicely. Now I know the plans for the weeks ahead with work, I can settle a little more comfortably knowing what I will be doing and can spend some time writing again.

I was due to be taking part in a half marathon race next weekend but it has been postponed to February. With this in mind, I have looked up a plan for me to work on some speed training and I have written it all down in my calendar. I seem to do well when I have a plan to work to!

This evening we will be enjoying a bottle of champagne which we earmarked from our anniversary at the beginning of the week. I’m looking forward to it already!
