OK to Exhale

Finally the vlie bloated inarticulate white supremacist has been defeated, if only by the thinnest of margins. I was so relieved when we heard the news this morning that I wept. The one who is replacing him (“nice man” though he may be) is a corporatist who is right-wing by most of the world’s standards, supports fracking, wants more money for police, and says the idea of Health Care for All is too extreme, but we think he will cause less suffering. Harris at least looks quite different from all our former Vice Presidents and is certainly an improvement over Pence.

Sue and I went for a walk in the park and bought a celebratory take-out cinnamon roll to have with our celebratory second cup of tea. 

Thank you for your kind wishes. This country is a mess. We are so divided that some are armed and ready for a Civil War, some are ready for a Revolution, and some are raging against the Neo-Liberalism they say Biden represents, but I think at least fifty percent of us are relieved.
